The Equator Tortoise Park in Mogotio off the Nakuru-Baringo Road is said to be home to probably one of the oldest tortoise at 316-years-old.

Some of these tortoises have been rescued from being potential road kills on the busy highway and even bush fires and have since thrived and multiplied.
